Collaborations & discounts are a powerful marketing tool
An attractive discount code can not only entice a customer to make a booking today, but also serve as an effective marketing tool.
By offering a discount code, you can easily reach out to more potential customers and increase your visibility in the market. In addition, discount codes give you an overview of how well you are reaching a particular target audience, which can help you optimise your marketing efforts.
KAYAKOMAT has developed a couple of general discount codes that are valid on all or several stations. You can also create your own discount codes and adapt them to your specific needs. Perhaps you want to offer a discount to a specific target group, or promote a new product or service in a more creative way?
With discount codes, you have the freedom to design your marketing in a way that suits your business.
INVITE YOU TO PADDLE
You have the opportunity to offer free paddling when you contact nearby hotels, a local blogger, someone you know who takes great photos, etc. Invite the receptionist on a paddle trip and she will surely tip her hotel guests!
You can also offer a free paddle as a prize in a social media competition, or if you and your family want to go paddling.
If you want to offer a paddling trip or want to go paddling yourself, you can make a voucher. You do this on the admin page and you then choose from and to which date it should apply.
Keep in mind that you don’t get the customer’s card details, so you won’t be able to charge them if something is missing. An alternative is to offer a discount code with a 95% discount.
All bookings go through the booking system. Please note that when you clean the kayaks, you use the Bluetooth function to open the locks instead.
CREATE YOUR OWN OFFERS
As an operator, you can create your own discount codes. You do this via the admin page, and instructions for this can be found here. A discount code can be valid for a specific time period or for the whole season. It can be valid a limited number of times or unlimited.
It can apply to all your stations or just one.
KAYAKOMAT has also created general discount codes for different occasions and partners (see below).
Think about who would appreciate which discount. For example, if you have an everyday discount, it may be appropriate to reach out to the university in your city, the local PRO association, etc.
The discount thus serves as a reason for contact and helps to get bookings during periods when there is no pressure to book.
co-operation adds value
It is also a good idea to offer discounts on other businesses to your customers. Contact local businesses to create your own discount code. Maybe the restaurant next door would like to offer 10% off the restaurant bill if you come there to eat after your kayaking trip?
There will be value for everyone and both you and the restaurant will have a message to spread.

Concerned about the discount code being spread? Don’t worry, on the admin page you can set limits on how many times a code can be used and more.
It’s also not a big deal if someone who is not a student rents with a student discount, etc., you still have a new customer who will certainly contribute to more customers in the future!

Mecenat20 = All students with a Mecenat card receive a 20% discount. See the Mecenat website. We pay Mecenat to publicise this discount in newsletters and push notifications to students. Spread the word, you too!
10STF2024 = For STF members. The code is visible in logged-in mode on their website. STF, the Swedish Tourist Association, is a very well-known and popular organisation. Being visible in their newsletter, membership site and social media brings bookings as well as trust. You can also contact their affiliated accommodation and make the owners and summer staff aware of the discount so that they spread it to their guests. See all accommodation here;

KAYAKOMATDAGEN2024 = 100% discount 13 June. Max 100 uses in Sweden. See the calendar of activities and this link, where you are welcome to help drive traffic;
25KAYAKOMAT DAY2024 = 25% discount on 13 June for those who sign up but are not among the first 100 and therefore do not get free paddling.
PADDLA10xyzDE/PADDLA10xyzSE/PADDLA10xyz etc = 10% discount for people who sign up to our newsletter.
KAYAKOMAT24 = 20% discount on your first booking. This is used in a campaign on Facebook/Instagram where we target people who have visited our website but not made a booking. This makes them come back to the website and acutally book.
KAYAKOMAT4s!HQ = 100% discount. Used by Kayakomat staff for photo/video or quality assurance. Staff are asked to send you a photo and give a good review on Google Maps;
hforeningen10 = Discount for members of the Swedish Union of Tenants. Sent out in this year’s summer supplement to their members. Please advise the local tenants’ association in your area or put a note on the notice board of your house;
DB2024 = Our operator in Vaxholm runs the company Dealbooster, which allows young people to sell discount booklets during the summer. Here we have a discount code of 20% with this code;
FXAlyonaD3891 and similar of SEK 3,000 or SEK 600 refer to gift cards or vouchers. We create these and notify the customer, you will receive payment the month after the customer’s purchase.
upplevelse6551 and similar refers to customers who shopped at Experience.com. You will receive a payout at the end of the season. The payment is SEK 500 minus 15% commission to Upplevelse.com and the voucher applies to a booking value of 500. They are responsible for any discounts on upplevelse.com themselves;
Influencer marketing and the like:
It happens that we give a voucher code or a discount code to influencers/micro influencers on social media. If they are going to paddle to get photo/video material, we try to let you know as best we can, and if we give them a discount code they can spread to their followers, we do not always write it here, as it is for a very short period. For example, we’ve given volleyball stars Twinthurins the discount code “twinsthurinaw” or kayaker Johan Stenkula the code HQlegenden10 (Johan is by the way available to contact if you ever need a guide to, for example, a group event!), and Rebecka Sundahl “HQrebeckaxrt” (she will visit 5 stations during the summer and take nice pictures that will be uploaded to the image bank and more)
