Discount codes and vouchers
If you have a partnership with a hotel, campsite, or another local business, you may want to create a discount code for them to offer their guests.
If a customer contacts you to cancel a booking due to bad weather or illness, you should offer them a voucher so they can rebook for another day.
It’s important that all bookings are made through the booking system to ensure everything is recorded correctly.
How to create a new discount code/voucher
Log in to your admin page.
In the menu on the left, there is one button called “Discounts” and one “Vouchers”.
When you click on one of the buttons, you will see a list of all codes added to your station.
You can see:
- Name of the code
- Whether it is active or expired,
- Which stations the code is valid for.
- The amount on the voucher, or % if discount
- How many times the code has been used.
- Action where you can change settings for your code by clicking on “Edit Coupon”.
Discount code
- Click on “Create discount” in the top right corner.
- Select the name of the discount code, i.e. the one that people should fill on the website to access the discount.
- Select stations where the code will be valid at.
- Select discount percentage.
- When should the code start and when should it end. The customer will be able to book with the code between the dates you specify it to be valid, however, it applies to paddling at any time during the season.
- Paddle date – tick this box in if you want the dates for when the customer should be able to paddle with the code, should be different to when they can make the booking. See example below.
- If you want to have a maximum usage, you fill that out, otherwise, leave it empty and it will be unlimted.
- Save.

Difference between Booking date and paddle date:
Example 1: You want to create a code that is valid for kayaking throughout the whole summer, but the customer should only be able to use the code and make the booking in the first week of June, then you set booking dates 1 – 30 June. No need to add paddle dates.
Example 2: There is an outdoor event on the weekend of 11-13 June and you want to create a discount code that is only valid for paddling this weekend but you want customers to be able to book now.
Booking date: Then you choose today’s date as the start date and the end date will be 13 June. Paddle date: 11-13 June

More about discount codes
If you need to change your discount code/voucher, e.g. change the validity period, amount or similar, then just click on “Edit Coupon” at the far right of each code.
NOTE! You can not change the name or the initial amount (if voucher), then you need to delete the code and create a new one.
However, you can change the existing amount and top up the voucher if needed.
If you want to sell a gift card or flexi-card to a customer, you can direct them to this page (https://kayakomat.shop/) where they can select your station and proceed to payment.
